I simply adored partnering with Jelly Belly to provide this photo shoot and Cookie Decorating Christmas Party blog post!
Cookie Decorating Christmas Party

Santa’s Milk and Cookies anyone? We have put together a super fun Cookie Decorating Christmas Party full of easy ideas + FREE Printables to host your own Holiday Party! Perfect for a Cookie Decorating, Cookie Exchange, or Gingerbread Decorating Party! This was definitely my daughter’s favorite party so far! She is a huge Jelly Belly Bean fan as I am sure most kids (and adults wink wink) are!

You can use any table, desk, or counter top space in your home to create a party set up! I used a simple white desk for this one! If you have a wall space for a backdrop, then you can use wrapping paper (as shown here). Tape to the wall to create an easy DIY Backdrop. I did two layers for the extra height! I am mildly obsessed with the giant balloons, and used them to anchor the table. I used gorgeous Tissue Paper Tassels from Lisa Frank Parties to hang from the balloons. Then covered the ground in Tissue Paper Honey Combs from Celebration Lane to add an extra layer, and lots of color to our Cookie Decorating Christmas Party!
MONEY SAVING TIP - If you are trying to save money you can skip on the balloons and honeycombs, and still have a great looking dessert table! You could use a table linen instead of honey combs!

I chose to use all white for the cake plates and serving platters. You can purchase these White Milk Glass Stands on Amazon, or you can find cheaper cake plates at your local Home Goods, TJMaxx, and Marshalls. The fun pom pom banner is from the Dollar Section at Target! I made the Snow Flake Banner using glitter Snow Flake Ornaments and bakers twine! Easy Peasy! I used small pieces of duct tape to adhere both banners to the table.

Who doesn’t LOVE Jelly Belly Beans? They are seriously delicious …. WELL that is if you don’t get one of the GROSS flavors from the Bean Boozled Game!! They are a great way to add color to your table and they are delicious to eat after!

I always purchase my cupcakes, and many of the bakery goods from my local Walmart. This saves a lot of money for party set up!!

My husband and daughter baked all of these Sugar Cookies using the Jenny Cookies Recipe!! They then used Wilton Cookie Cutters for the shapes! We found a great pack with lots of shapes at TJMaxx.

I always say Confetti and Glitter make everything better!! Please tell me I am not the only one??

You can’t have a cookie party without milk!! Plastic Milk Glass Cups are great with little kids! These fabulous ones are from Hoopla Events! I used our FREE Printable Party Logos and Rectangle Flags to jazz these up a bit for our Cookie Decorating Christmas Party!

When decorating Cookies, Gingerbread Houses, or Cupcakes … it is easiest for the kids to stand around the table instead of sit. It is also easier to give them single servings of everything they need right next to them. This way there is no passing around or reaching across the table! Used here are Plastic Paint Palettes from Hobby Lobby to divide out Jelly Belly Beans and Icing!

The Activity Placemat is available with the FREE Downloads at the bottom of this post! These are great to have at parties with kids, because none of the kids EVER finish their craft at the same time. Once a few kids finish decorating their cookies; they can color on the placemat while the other kids have time to finish. This prolongs the crazy running around chaos - wink wink!

The kids LOVED decorating the cookies! I caught them eating more Jelly Belly Beans than using them for the cookies - Haha! I may have snagged a few along the way as well.
This was a photo shoot, but we are having a real party this weekend with 14 girls and redoing this entire process! This time I will be setting up around my island in the kitchen! So if you have more than a few kids …. It is doable!

You can have the kids make enough cookies to save for Santa! They can take them home and freeze them if Christmas is far away, or save them in the fridge if it is within the next week! Send their Santa Cookies home in Ziploc bags or goody boxes!

The Jelly Belly Beans were PERFECT for decorating the cookies with! They would also work great with a Gingerbread House Decorating Party or Cupcake Decorating Party!
