Santa’s Workshop Party - Elf On The Shelf Ideas

This Santa’s Helpers Elf party is sure to give you some great Christmas Party Ideas! I styled this party for my daughter’s (Lilly) 8th birthday. Two weeks before the party Lilly wrote Santa Claus a letter asking him if he could please send Alfred, her elf on the shelf, and all of her friends Elves to the party! Santa did just that! When the kids arrived they searched high and low to find out what the mischievous Elf On The Shelf elves were doing! Get INSTANT DOWNLOAD Printable Package With Editable Text at the bottom of the post!

Lilly has donated her birthday gifts since her 5th Birthday. For her 8th Birthday she heard K-Luv talking about Operation Christmas Child and decided that is how she wanted to donate this time! So we asked all of the guest to bring a shoe box and all of the items to fill it with. We also had them go to the website if they wanted to register and pay the shipping for their shoe box. When the guest arrived they were given an Elf Apron and Hat so they could become Santa’s Little Helpers! They then went to the wrapping station to fill and wrap their shoe boxes!

The awesome photography was done by Annye Newmann from Faith Photography!

The adorable Santa Hat initial shirt is from Josselyn at Elle Couture! The candy cane stockings are from Target and the seriously awesome Elf Shoes were made by a friend of mine, Lauren. HERE is an a tutorial for how to make your own elf shoes using felt! All of the girls Elf Hats were purchased at Dollar Tree!

I get a lot of questions about backdrops for parties. For this Christmas Party I used wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby and simply used scotch tape to adhere it to the wall. I wrapped a foam board from Dollar Tree in lime green wrapping paper. Then attached the poster from this printable Christmas Set to the center and used decorative tape from Michaels as a border.

My friend Lauren made this awesome Mesh Christmas Wreath for her home. I borrowed it for the entry door into the party room! Re-purposing items from around the house is a perfect way to save money on a party set up!

Marshmallow-Hot-Chocolate

These Marshmallow Hot Coco Mugs are an easy and fun DIY! My mom and Lilly had a blast making them! Use the Jumbo Campfire size marshmallows, mini candy canes, and chocolate frosting! Break off the straight part of the candy cane and then stick the rounded part in the side of the marshmallow. Rub a little bit of the chocolate frosting on top of the marshmallow. Then cut a few small pieces off a large marshmallow and place on top of the chocolate to mimic the mini marshmallows in hot coco!

A Hot CoCo Bar is perfect for any Holiday Party! You can set it up on a separate table or a tea cart as I have done here. I purchased the clear mugs from The Dollar Tree. I then added ribbon using glue dots. For the rim I dipped the mugs in water then in a shallow dish filled with sprinkles. Once they dry the sprinkles stay on!

Use little dishes to add a variety of items for guest to use in their Hot Chocolate. For the Chocolate Spoons I used unfinished wooden spoons and added a Mini Santa Hat found in the scrapbooking section at Hobby Lobby. I then melted Wilton Chocolate Melts in a condiment bottle in the microwave. Then you squeeze the melted chocolate on the end of the spoon; add sprinkles and let it dry!

The cupcake stands were made by using unfinished miniature wood candlesticks from Hobby Lobby and Christmas coasters from Michael’s! I painted the candlesticks and glued on the coasters.

These AWESOME Santa Hat Chair covers are from the Dollar Tree! They added the perfect touch. The Rudolph Poster you see in the background was used to Play Pin The Nose On Rudolph and comes in this Instant Download Printable Party Package!

These cookies were made by my best friend Alyssa from Bonbon Du Jour! I LOVE her use of disco dust edible glitter! The fondant cupcake toppers are from Jennifer at Harriet’s House Of Cakes!

The Oreo Pops are made by my friend Lauren and are always a favorite sweet treat at any party I host! I attached party logos from this Instant Download printable package to the top of the sticks! Oreo Balls are made by blending 1 package Oreo’s and 1 Package Cream Cheese. Next - simply roll into balls like you are rolling playdough. Put the balls on a stick and place in the refrigerator for several hours. Last - dip into melted bakers chocolate. Let harden and eat!!

Each place setting came with an activity place mat from Target’s dollar section. I had small containers filled with everything they would need to decorate their Wilton gingerbread man (purchased from Michael’s). This kit is awesome because it comes with 8 perfectly sized gingerbread men and the stuff to decorate with!

Alfred painted Lilly a picture and brought her a note about how much he loved her party and the idea to do Operation Christmas Child!

I printed the Party Circles from this printable collection on Iron On Transfer paper and then followed the instructions to transfer to the aprons. The solid red aprons are from Hobby Lobby!

Love, love, love the holiday season and the Santa’s Helpers theme. My favorite if I had to choose is the dessert bar you created. From the handcrafted backdrop to the mug marshmallows. It was a great focal point and “sweet” touch to the celebration.

We just started the elf on the shelf tradition in our home and this party is a true inspiration. I love how you added the mischievous touch with the elf painting - it really makes the elf on the shelf come to life. I adored the hot coco bar particularly the stirring spoons and the sugar rimmed mugs! And you knocked it out of the ball park and straight to the North Pole with the aprons and hats. Fantastic party!
