A DIY Water and Sand Table can be a saving grace throughout the summer! Our 3 year old absolutely LOVES playing with the tubs. Water and Sand Tubs are perfect for the summer months, and can be moved into your garage for the colder months! There are several different DIY Water and Sand Table Ideas on Pinterest. Everything I saw was fairly complicated and needed to be built. I was looking for quick and easy! When I found these tubs at Target … it dawned on me that a DIY Water and Sand Table station didn’t actually have to be a table!
DIY Water and Sand Table (Tubs) Supplies:
- 2 Large Storage Bins and Lids - Mine are from Target
- 2-3 Bags of 0.5 Cu Ft Play Sand - Mine are from Walmart
- Water and Sand Play Toys - Mine are from Walmart and Dollar Tree
Fill one tub with water and the other with your sand, then add your toys and your DIY Water and Sand Table (Tubs) are finished!
TIP - The sand tub will be extremely heavy! Be sure to place it were you would like to keep it for the majority of the summer. My husband was able to move this by himself, but I could not even lift it!
TIP - I refill the water fresh each time we play in the water tub.
Our sweet girl and her friends had a blast playing in the tubs. I was in shock by how long they would stay entertained with these fun Water and Sand Sensory Bins!
Be sure when you are not playing in the sand to keep the lid on the tub. This will help keep bugs out, and allow your sand to stay dry during storms. We moved our DIY Water and Sand Table Tubs to a small play deck in our backyard! Once the cold winter months hit we plan to move them on a tarp in the garage.
